Vocation Discernment
To help young adults
understand the vocation as primarily a call to holiness and
Christian maturity lived through single or married life, the priesthood, the diaconate, or
religious life.
As discussed earlier,
many men and women respond to God's call of vocation during young
adulthood. Families, parishes, military chaplains, and campus ministers can help young
people discern their vocations. If you are discerning your vocation
we highly encourage that young adults:
- Contact the Office for Vocations for
more information on how to begin the process of discernment.
- Attend seminars, workshops, and overnight retreats in a spiritual setting to
discuss vocation discernment.
- Seek the guidance of a pastor, mentor, spiritual
director to assist you in the process.
- Join young adult groups focused on
discerning their call in life.
- Consider taking a sabbatical year to volunteer
community service.
(For more information on service projects check our event calendar often
and/or contact your local church for parish service project events).
