The ministry of pastoral care consists of
reaching out to those in need, building
relationships, and healing. We engage
ourselves in the threefold expression of social action: providing
direct service to those in need, empower
people to help themselves and advocating for
those without an effective voice. It's coming face to face
with Christ in those less fortunate and
troubled and guiding them back to their
Christian values.
Young adults can partake in this ministry and respond pastorally by:
- Seeking or helping those in need
of counseling at
their local parishes, college campuses, military, or within organizations
and movements that assist in the developmental tasks of young adults.
- Joining a peer-counseling or support group or
encouraging those in need to attend.
- Becoming aware of
young adults who are sick at home or in the hospital and establish a
ministry/group where these individuals can be visited by someone from the
parish and receive the sacraments.
- Offering your time in helping
those less fortunate by volunteering in faithful citizenship.
